Taikkyi Township ( 18th September 2018): With the direction of H.E. Daw Naw Pan Thinzar Myo, Kayin Ethnic Affairs Minister, Yangon Region Government, the Business Coalition For Gender Equality Association led by Daw Zarchi Tin organised a “Smart Family Talk” at the Kayin Baptist Church in Taikkyi township on 18th September 2018.

Her Excellency delivered the opening speech and the Chair of the Coalition gave the opening remarks and thank-you speech. Kayin Women and Men of 180 participants from Taikyi and its environs Nyaung Lay Bin, Zaloat Kone, Ywa Thit Knoe, Tar Khway Ywa Bon Thar and other villages participated in the Talk.

The talk was led by the Coalition and its Directors along with How She Did It organisation with the discussion of understanding the value and roles of women and men in a family, how these roles changed to present days, women understand their roles, values and encouraged to express their views and step out to take for their job, men understand the value and roles of women and encourage in taking their new steps, women and men are inspired to be smart persons of their life, women and men understand the basic hygienic practices of a family, women and men understand family planning for their dreamed life. The participants actively participated in the talk, asked for the topics they would like to know, exchanging their perspectives on becoming a smart family. The villagers said this is their first time of having such kinds of Talk and enthusiastic to participate and learn from such kinds of Talk again.
